September 27th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyEph 3:1-8 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
Paul was a prisoner of Jesus Christ. (Verse 1) But how did he get there, what jailed him if you would? Jesus did not arrest Paul, did not bind him and drag him to the place of incarceration, Paul if you would placed himself under arrest, jailed himself. When Paul came to see who Jesus Christ is and what Christ had done for him, he repented of his sin and by his own free well asked Jesus Christ to save him. From that moment on Paul was a prisoner, Jesus had paid the ultimate price for him, and now he belonged to Jesus. Like Paul, Christ would have all become a prisoner for Him. But like Paul, Christ will not force any. Jesus died for all and would have all be saved, but we must make the choice. What about you today, what or whom do you serve, what are you a prisoner to? Everyone serves something or someone. Some serve money, some the flesh, but all serve something, all are a prisoner to someone or something. What has arrested you? Tomorrow we will see the end of the prisoner and the importance of serving the right one.
