What do you know of Jesus? The world and the lost of course know nothing of Jesus, nothing of His suffering and death, nothing of His love and power, nothing of His desire to save all who will come unto Him, the world and the lost know nothing of Jesus. But what of the Christian, what do we know of Jesus? Most who claim to be in the body of Christ know little more of Jesus than the world does. Yes, they know what He did on the cross and why, they know of His power to wash away sin because they called out to Him in prayer, they know of those things. But for many it stops right there and they know nothing of His power to guide them, the power of His will, His power to deliver and provide for them, they know nothing of those things. They know nothing because they sacrifice nothing for Jesus. Paul knew of all of these things because Paul was willing to suffer the loss of all things to gain Christ. If we truly want to know the power of Jesus in our lives we then must sacrifice some things for Him. Sacrifice our love of self and the world, sacrifice our pride and righteousness for His, we must lay all upon the altar, must give all to Jesus. The reason many know little of Him is because they sacrifice little for Him.
