July 10th, 2012 by Pastor SolleyPsalm 85:1-6 85:title To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. 1 LORD, thou hast been Favourable unto thy land: Thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. 3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: Thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. 4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine anger toward us to cease. 5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? 6 Wilt thou not revive us again: That thy people may rejoice in thee?
Can there be revival in America? That was the question asked in Sunday School class this past week. As Christians we know the ultimate end that is coming for this nation and every other nation as well. There is coming a one world government and a one world leader empowered and under the direction of Satan. All nations will surrender to Satan’s man and no nation will stand alone. America will fall my friend, that is certain. But when? No man knows when the rapture of the church happen, when the tribulation will begin, and when the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ will take place. With that in mind we as Christians are to do all that we can to bring about revival. To say that revival will never take place again is to take away from the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in this world. America can have revival, but this revival if it ever will take place must begin in the hearts of God’s people and not the lost. The Biggest reason we see no spiritual life in our nation is because there is little spiritual life in our churches, even in fundamental, Bible believing churches. Christians are more concerned with the things of the world than they are with the things of the Lord, more concerned with the economy of the nation than the spiritual life of the nation, more concerned with comfort than sacrifice. Until that changes there is little hope for revival in America. But what if we began to pray for individual revival and what if that revival took place. Then there would be no stopping a revival in America.
