John 8:32-36 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Freedom has never been free. As we celebrate our Independence Day we need to stop and remember the price of our freedom. Men and women have given all for our nation, have given their very lives for our freedom. Some at this very moment stand in harms way to preserve our freedom. Freedom in America has never been free. Pray for our nation today and give thanks for our freedom. Offer a prayer of thanksgiving as well for the freedom provided for us by Jesus Christ. “The Son shall make you free” is as true today as it was when Jesus said it. But that freedom was not free, Jesus paid a very high price for is, Jesus gave His very life to make us free. But one does need to repent of sin and ask Christ to forgive and save. What then does this freedom mean? We then are free from sin, free to love and serve Christ, free to live for Him. Freedom is never free.
