So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
This is a battle that takes place within every Christian each day, the battle between the flesh and the Spirit, between the old man and the new man and it is a battle that many seem to losing. The world, sin, and Satan are pitted against the believer in Christ. There are so many things aimed at getting the Christian to lose this fight. The TV programs, the advertisements, billboards driving down the road, the music of the world, they way people dress or their lack of dress today, and on and on we could go. There seems to so few things to help us. But is that last statement true? I think not, I think there are many and powerful things to help us in the fight. There is the Bible that we can open and read, there is prayer and open access through Jesus Christ to God the Father, there is the church and the people of God, there is good Godly music, and I could name more. The problem is that we allow ourselves to be flooded with the things that harm and hinder us and ignore the things that God has given to help us. If we would make better choices on a daily basis with the things we allow into our life we would do better in the fight. May the Lord help us make better choices today.
