June 14th, 2012 by Pastor Solley1 Thess 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
Heb 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
I was recently asked to turn in a résumé by a organization that I do volunteer work for. As I was preparing this I was thinking back on all the things that have taken place in these many years in the ministry. Some things have almost been forgotten, faded by the passing of time. That is what brought our Scripture text to mind. Things done for the Lord in faith and love are never forgotten by God. People may forget in time what we have done for them, people will forget your works, but not God. God is not unrighteous and all will be rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ. But God will also not forget that which we neglected to do, or that which we have dome for the wrong reasons or in the wrong way. All of us are compiling a work history, a service history for the Lord. We will all add to that history today. Will we read our Bible, pray for the lost, be a witness for the Lord, keep a good testimony today, try and be a help to others? What will be added to our work and service today? God will remember.
