Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

We noted yesterday that God places a high value on a Godly woman. Today in honor of Mother’s Day let us consider a few and what God valued in them.
(1) God placed a high value on the prayers of Hannah. – 1 Sam 1:10-11 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore. And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. – Hannah was a praying woman and God valued that.
(2) God placed a high value on the humility of Sara. – 1 Peter 3:5-6 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. – Especially early on in their lives together there was a lot about Abraham that Sara could have questioned but because she was humble before God she was humble before Abraham and God valued that.
(3) God place a high value the spiritual desires desire of Mary. (Martha’s sister) – Luke 10:41-42 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. – There was much to do but Mary would sit at the feet of Jesus.
(4) God placed a high value on the faith of Ruth. – Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
For these women and many more in the Bible, God placed a high value on them. If God did that then shouldn’t we when we see that virtuous woman? Here is the challenge for Mother’s Day for the ladies, young and old. Be that one that God values highly. For the men, give honor where honor is due.
