9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? 11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. 14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
The first thing Jesus did after entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday was go and cleanse the temple. The house of God was not a house of prayer but a den of thieves. A place where men were taken advantage of and deceived. Most churches need just such a cleansing today. We find those who are to be men of God taking advantage of a deceiving the people or the people who are supposed to be Christians fighting against the man of God. Our churches are in need of a cleansing today. Find the church that stands on the Word of God, the preachers who proclaims the truth, that church that deals with sin, and you find a very unpopular church. Find that church that is popular with the people, that church where everyone feels comfortable, and you find a man who has sold out to the world. What we need is a cleansing today. The problem is that people like being dirty more than they like being clean. What if Jesus were to show up in your church? Would He clear the pulpit or the pew? Both are badly in need of cleansing today in many cases.
