141:1 A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.Stop and really listen to the way people talk and the things they say today. It is so easy for people to lie and I doubt that most people could get through even one day without telling a lie. They lie about everything, things they do, things they didn’t do, how successful they have been, where they went, who they were with, they lie to blame others for their failures, people lie about everything. And then the language that people use, cuss words, taking the name of the Lord in vain, gutter talk. Stop and listen to the way people talk.
Christian it ought not be that way with us. We need to ask the Lord to set a watch before our mouths, to keep the door of our lips. Do we remember or even know that every idle word will be judged? If you have never heard that it is in the Bible. I will let you find it.
But set a watch today. Be sure that everything that you say to others you would say to Christ. That every word that comes out of your mouth today would not cause Him shame or hurt. Be honest with people today and honest with yourself. Set a watch today.
