Ps 138 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.
6 Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
We started a week of special meetings yesterday at Cherry Corner. As we enter a week like this two things always are upon my heart. First, how much God’s people need revival. Second, how little they want it. We had very good groups out both morning and evening yesterday and heard powerful messages from the Word of God. The evangelist did touch the heart of God’s people. But now God’s people need to respond. We do walk in a troubled world. (Verse 7) And we do need revival. The question is, do we want it or not? I am not so much concerned with numbers this week as I am with hearts. High numbers will look good but hearts need to be moved by the Spirit of God. What I am more concerned with is my own heart. How much do I want revival in my own life? And this is what the people of God need to be concerned with and not just in Cherry Corner. Do you want revival? What was your day like yesterday in the house of God? Did the Spirit of God speak to you? Were you moved by the preaching of the Word of God? Yesterday should have been the capstone on the last week and the first step toward a new week of walking with the Lord. If it was not then you need revival. But do you want it?
