Proverbs 30:24-28
24 There be four things which are little upon the earth,
But they are exceeding wise:
25 The ants are a people not strong,
Yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
26 The conies are but a feeble folk,
Yet make they their houses in the rocks;
27 The locusts have no king,
Yet go they forth all of them by bands;
28 The spider taketh hold with her hands,
And is in kings’ palaces. #

The theme of the devotional this morning is “Little things”. How often do we take notice of little things? The four that are named in our text are some of the smallest on the earth. But there they are even in a kings palace as the text tells us. There are times when we think ourselves to be so small, not seeming to matter to anyone. Yet in the plan and purpose of God we all have a place and no matter how small that place may be God has use for us there. Even that shut in that cannot not get out of the house can move mountains in prayer. That young one can say a word for Jesus, can sing praises to His name. I was in a restaurant for lunch after church yesterday and a little girl stood and sang for all to hear “The B-I-B-L-E” Her family doesn’t come to our church but she has been to our VBS and she wanted to sing for me. It was a witness to all who were there for lunch. Most of those customers had not been to church that day but they all heard about the Bible from a 4 year old girl. Little tings do add up when given to the Lord. This morning instead of thinking how we can never really do great things for the Lord let us look to little things we have the opportunity to do. And then do them.
