Acts 26:19-22 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. 22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

Yester we looked at reading the Bible with a purpose. (Acts 26:16) As we begin the task of seeking and following the purpose of God in our lives the first thing that we will be led to is being a testimony and witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul at once showed them, told them at Damascus what had taken place in his life, what Jesus Christ had done. He had a testimony for the Lord. (Acts 26:20) Why do so many today seem to want to hide their salvation? When Jesus Christ makes a difference in our lives it should be our desire to make that known. Then Paul took that good news to the Gentiles. (Acts 26:20) Took the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ to those who were apart from Christ. Paul not only had a testimony for Christ he became a witness for Christ to the lost. Many today claim that they cannot do this, but this as well is an excuse born in the heart of man and not God. Just as we are to share a testimony we are also to be a witness. And take note of verse 22 for those who think this is beyond them. We will have, we do have the help of God in these matters. To both small and great we have the help of God. What a blessing to know that God is in this, that God is with us, that we have the help of God. These are the first steps in fulfilling the purpose of God in our lives.
