Matt 9:36-38 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Another thing that is missing from the lives of most people today including Christians is compassion. A heartfelt burden for the needs of others, a heart given to the needs of others, a heart soft to the condition and needs of someone other than self. That goes against the society that people live in today. Look out for number one, get what you deserve, me first, those are the words and phrases that people live by today. Yet we find Jesus concerned with the needs of others. Read through the gospels and you will see the compassion of Christ. Jesus fed the multitudes, wept at the tomb of Lazarus, healed the sick and lame because He was a man of compassion. Jesus cared for others, do we? This is another resolution that many need to make. The secret of JOY is said to be the following. J- Jesus first. O-then others. Y- yourself last. Is that a resolution that you need to make this year?
