Christmas is now passed and we begin to turn our attention to the New Year. Many will make New Rears resolutions and almost as many will break them. But there are some we should consider and some we need to keep. Being subject to the commands of God and growing spiritually are two of them. To grow one must obey. The Bible tells us that Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Jesus grew not only physically but spiritually as well. How this is possible with the Son of God is one of the mysteries of the Bible but I believe it because God said it. Notice then verse 51. Jesus was subject unto His earthly parents. (He was not the son of Joseph but the Son of God.) In other words Jesus was obedient to them and the authority they had over Him as a young man in the home. And we need to be subject unto Him, unto His Word today if we have any desire to grow in the Lord., to increase in wisdom and stature with God. Consider being subject to Christ as a resolution in the New Year. More things to consider tomorrow.
