Rev 3:14-20 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Snow came down for the first time in December yesterday afternoon. For the most part it has been very mild here in PA. Many have said “I hope it is like this all winter”. Temps in the 50 – 60 range, lots of sun, rain and not snow. It is almost lukewarm. Not summer but not winter, lukewarm. I would like it to remain all winter as well. But that would not be good for our area. We need the cold and the snow, it would not be good to be lukewarm all winter. The same can be said, is said in the Bible, that it is not good to be lukewarm. Spiritually speaking it brings death. Those who are lukewarm to service do not serve the Lord. Those who are lukewarm to the church do not attend. Those who are lukewarm to the Bible do not read or obey it. Those who are lukewarm to the lost do not try and share the gospel with them. Spiritually it is not good to be lukewarm to the point God says He will “Spue” them out of His mouth. It is a serious matter with God. What is your spiritual temp today? Are you so cold you are dead? Are you so hot that all you do is for the glory of God? Or are you lukewarm? To be lukewarm never leads to being hot, it always leads to being cold. Think of that for a moment. I take something hot off the stove and let it sit and as it begins to cool it will get to that lukewarm point. But from there it never gets hot again, it always goes to cold. Let us never be seen as being lukewarm by God.
