13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard .It is very easy to become discouraged even as a Christian in this world that we live in. I know many who have been overwhelmed by the trials of life to the point that they turned away from the Lord. The begin to question the love and grace of God, even the faithfulness of God. Why would God allow this, or why would God do that are questions they ask. If this is the result of walking with God then why go that path they conclude and soon they fall away from the Lord. They begin as it says in Prov 13:13 to despise the Word and it does lead to their destruction.
Understand this about trial, we will have them as Christians. To walk with Christ does not keep us from the trials of life. But the world goes through those things as well. Don’t think the lost have no troubles in this life. In fact they have more because the way of the transgressors is hard. When we begin to think haw hard this life is with the Lord just stop and think of how much harder it is without Him. The way of the transgressors is hard my friend. Whenever we get discouraged just think of how hard it would be without the Lord to lean upon.
