Daily Devotions
October 31st, 2011 by Pastor SolleyLamentations 3:21-23 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
I love new things, I love to get them and I love to give new things. Today we stand at the beginning of a new week. Sunday is the first day of the week but most people look at Monday as the day that starts their week. Today then we have received from God brand new mercy and compassion to start this week. What then will we do with them? Will we begin anew and afresh to serve the Lord Jesus Christ? Will we follow after the things of the Lord? Will we give ourselves in a new way to Jesus Christ? Considering that we do not live on yesterdays mercy with God, on yesterdays compassion, does He not deserve something new from us? This may already be your habit and if it is praise the Lord for it. But let us start our days this week in the Word of God and in prayer. Let us give some new time to Him. Let us walk in His Word in a new way, let us serve Him in a new way, be more devoted to Him, more committed to Him. Let us give God something new as well. I love new things, I love to get them and to give them. I wonder if God would love to receive something new from me?
