Daniel 12:1-4 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Daniel 12 speaks of the last days, just before the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. While the Bible gives no date for the rapture of the church it does give signs of the condition of the world just prior to the return of the Lord. We most certainly see the conditions described in verse 4 in our day. With the PC and the internet knowledge has been increased. People are not smarter but we do know more today and we see people running to and fro. This morning my wife and I are off to Washington DC, then back this afternoon. Then to church this evening after making a visit at a nursing home. Tomorrow hospital visitation in the morning, home visits in the afternoon, study for messages and more. The Christian must be careful not to get so busy in this world that we forget to stop, slow down, and spend time with the Lord. I think many today even get so busy in the Lord’s work that they forget to spend time with Him. That is the temptation with the way we can go “To and fro”. Stop today and spend some time with Jesus. To go slower with Him will be to go better day by day.
