October 24th, 2011 by Pastor SolleyRomans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
How many have a zeal of God today but without knowledge? I was watching the news this morning and there was a short story about the housing market. A man was interviewed because he was trying to sell his house. He said he thought things would go well for him because he was spiritual, he was religious. He then went on to say that he had buried a “Little saint” in his yard. That was his spirituality. He might have well as buried his faith because it is as dead as that little statue. He is ignorant of the righteousness of God and tries in vain to establish his own just as we see in Romans 10. That man, all men need Christ. His faith would no longer have to be placed in a statue buried in his yard but in the living God, the Savior of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ. What a difference Jesus Christ makes in a life.
