October 3rd, 2011 by Pastor SolleyEzekiel 34:24-26 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. 25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. 26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
I was wondering this morning if the rain will ever stop. It seems like it has been raining here in PA non stop for several days. Periods of rain on Thursday, Friday and then all day Saturday and yesterday and again this morning. Then I thought of this verse in Ezekiel where God promises showers of blessing on Israel. Yes it is raining but can’t we thank God for His showers of blessings on us today? For those of us in the rain let us stop this morning and count the blessings of God. They truly do outnumber the raindrops that are falling outside. The blessings of Salvation, provision, protection, direction and even correction fall upon us day by day but how often do we stop and give thanks? Thank you Jesus for your gift of salvation, for dying for all, for saving all who will call upon you. Thank you Jesus for home and family, for taking care and providing through the years. Thank you Jesus for allowing us and allowing me to serve you and others. There is much to be thankful for when we consider God’s showers of blessings. Let the rain come down and let it remind us all of God’s wonderful love and blessings.
