Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
This is a question I am often asked, “What is your vision?” What is your vision for the church, for the people for the next 5 years or 10 years? And Prov 298:18 is often used to point out that we need to have a vision. But a vision for what? Consider the verse. “Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” The second part of the verse tells us what we need to have a vision of, God and His Word. I believe that the reason the church is so weak today, Christians are so weak today, is because we have no real vision of God and seek none concerning His Word. Most Christians today have a vision of the God of Psalm 23 but want none of the God of Isaiah 6. They see the Savior in the Garden, but never look at Jesus Christ in Revelation. We have a vision of God in the way we want to see Him but never consider the holiness of God e righteousness of God, the of of judgment. We do the same thing with His Word. In order to keep from perishing we must hav a clear vision of God and His Word.
