1 Timothy 5:1-3
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. 3 Honour widows that are widows indeed.
We had or nursing home ministry last evening and had a good service of singing, preaching and then visiting with the residents. Several people from our church take part three Mondays out of the month. The Bible has a lot to say about the aged as we see in the above passage and those ones need to hear the Word, need prayer, and need company. It is good that we do those things. But let us not forget the older ones in our own churches and even in our families, they need company as well, they need to be visited as well. Can you call someone today, visit someone today, spend time with someone today? When we do those things for the aged God is pleased.
