Rom 15:5
5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Phil 2:2
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded , having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Phil 2:20
20 For I have no man likeminded , who will naturally care for your state.
What is it to be likeminded? To think the same, to desire the same things, to have a common goal. These would all fit in telling what it is to be likeminded.
Do we know how rare that is? The word likeminded is found only three times in the Bible and from the way it is used we see three basic thoughts I would like to share this morning.
1. According to Rom 15:5 God has granted the ability to the believer to be likeminded. “Let this mind be in you…”
2. It brings God and the servants of God joy when Christians are likeminded. Phil 2:2 How can we work together if not of the same mind?
3. It is a very rare thing to find likeminded people. Phil 2:20 Paul had no man with him who was likeminded.
This should cause us to give thanks unto God if we are found in a good Bible believing church, one preaching the Word, one serving the Lord, one with common goals. This is a rare thing. Instead of picking everyone and everything to pieces we should strive to be of one mind, strive to be likeminded.
