Ps 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
KJV
So many times we find in our Bible words in the same verse that we would never place together, words like precious and death as we see in our verse this morning. I listened to those words in that verse yesterday at a funeral service for a trusted and faithful friend, an example of a true man of God. I will miss my friend as I do others in my life who have recently passed from this world and because they were born again are with the Lord Jesus today. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” That is precious, those words do belong together because of other words we would never put in the same verse but God did. (Ps 85:9-10 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.) Mercy and truth are also found together, placed there by God because of the shed blood of His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Truth demands one pay for sin, mercy looks to Jesus who paid that price of redemption for all who will place faith and trust in Him and Him alone. Precious and death do go together when one knows Jesus as his or her personal savior. So glad God put those words together.
