What is the Lord Jesus Christ praying for as “He ever liveth to make intercession for them.” We touched on a few things yesterday that He is NOT praying for and today something that He is praying for. Jesus makes intercession for lost souls. (Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.) In the chapter in the Old Testament that pictures the Son of God in the cross we find that “He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” Jesus through His shed blood on the cross made the way for any who repent and confess Him as their savior to be reconciled with God, to have sin forgiven and an eternal home in heaven. Jesus still lives for that today and His blood continues to wash away the sin of all who call upon Him, He ever liveth. Along with Psalm chapter twenty two Isaiah chapter fifty three gives a very graphic picture of Jesus on that cross and He did it all for you and for me as He poured out His soul so we could be saved. There is one who has made intercession for you. Have you received Jesus as your savior today? If not call upon Him and if yes thank Him for what He has done for you.
