Ps 127:1-2 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Sleeping in as the saying goes today. There are some nights when sleep just doesn’t seem to want to come. No real reason, a long day yesterday with much travel, precious memories popping up throughout the night, too hot, too cold, sleep just doesn’t come. What to do in those hours? Meditate upon the things of God, pray, thank Him for precious memories of days gone by, listen to those old hymns of the faith. There are so many things to thank our God for, so many good things that it is at times a joy when sleep doesn’t want to come for it give another opportunity to allow the Lord to build our house and rest in His wonderful care.
