Matt 6:33-34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

No thought for the morrow, no worries, no cares, no fears about what tomorrow may hold. That is one of the most reassuring and at the same time one of the most difficult commands of the Bible to obey. What may happen tomorrow, what might the test results reveal, what might the doctor tell me, what might need repaired, what unexpected expense may occur, what loss may we experience tomorrow? Those are things that all of us face and most of us have concerns about. Yet I read that clear command “Take therefore no thought for the morrow.” That command goes all the ay back to what Jesus began to teach in Matthew chapter five and that is why we have the therefore in the command. The sermon on the mount as these chapters are called in one of the most comforting sermons you will ever read. In it we find more than one reason why we need not worry about tomorrow including the tender care and provision provided for the child of God in the last several verses of chapter six. Read them and you see we have no reason to give thought for the morrow.
