Song 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
KJV
This verse points out little things that seem harmless but can cause great and at times permanent damage. A little fox in the vineyard at that time would eat away at the roots of the vines and destroy them and it is an illustration of little sins that seem to cause no harm left in our lives that will cause great damage. A modern day illustration is a very small accident I had with our car last month. I scraped a STOP sign as the car slid on some ice while I was trying to make a turn. The STOP sign was not knocked over, it never moved. I drove the car home, it suffered no damage that will keep it off the road. I was not injured at all. The cost to repair the car is five thousand dollars. I have the car insured, I do not need help with the cost of the repairs, it is just an illustration of what something little can do, what it can cost. Little sins in our lives cause much greater damage than a little fox in a vineyard or a scrape on the side of a car. Did you know there is an insurance policy available to all that can take care of any and all damage done by sin in the past, present, and future in our lives? His name is Jesus and he secured that policy on the cross, payment was made in full for sin, and it is available to all who will place faith and trust in Him. I am more thankful today for what Jesus can do for me, what He has done for me, and what He will do for me than any other insurance I have ever looked into. Look to the one who can take of sin in your life today and give all to Him, ask Jesus and Jesus alone to take away sin and sins in your life. There is no deductible, He paid it all.
