1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
KJV
Many people question the love of God today, if God does love them. The answer is found in the verses above. I had an earthly father who sent me many times to do many different things. Then as a father I have sent my son many times to do many different things. But my earthy father never sent me to give my life for another and then as a father I have never sent my son in like manner. But God the Father did send His only begotten Son into this world to die for you and me, to die as a sacrifice for our sins. (John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.) That is a measure of love that goes beyond all human understanding, that one could be loved so much, so deeply, that another would send His Son to die for them. (Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.) When people come to an understanding of just how much God loves them, how much Jesus loves them, the sacrifice made for them because they are loved, they come to the cross and ask Jesus to save them. Are you loved today? That answer is yes.
