1 Cor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Ps 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Luke 12:16-21 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
KJV
Continuing our study of foundations that will be destroyed we find this man in Luke 12 building a foundation upon his 401K. That man had it all and now he would take his ease. (The only time that word is found in the New Testament.) But his 401K failed, the stock market of his soul crashed, and he found that his riches would do him no good as he gave an account of his life to God. The buildings of the king of Babylon, the pleasures of life for Solomon, and now the huge retirement plan, they all were destroyed. Can the be a foundation that will never be destroyed? There is one, His is seen in the very first verse of our Bible readings this morning and we will look at that foundation tomorrow. For today, what foundation you have built upon that will be destroyed one day? Then what will you do? Better to turn to Jesus today for He is the one and only sure foundation that will never be destroyed.
