Daily Devotions
December 30th, 2025 by Pastor SolleyEccl 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
KJV
Why this verse as we count down the days remaining in 2025? Because the New Year holds many questions that we cannot answer. None of us know what tomorrow will hold much less the 365 days of 2026. But we do know what took place in 2025 and I would encourage you today to look back upon the blessings of the past year, the goodness of God, and all that our God did for all of us over the past year. Like all who will read this short devotional I can look back at trials, at losses, at heartaches at discouragements and disappointments that took place in 2025. But looking with eyes open toward my Savior I can see His bountiful blessings and continual presence through every trial. I can see His answers to prayer, His protection and provision, His constant comfort and victory through it all. I can look back and give thanks for all things because they were the will of God and my God is always only good. I can look back and agree with the Psalmist in Ps 84:11 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” I can look back and know the promise of Hebrews 13:5 has once again been fulfilled, “He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” I can look back and agree with Eccl 7:8 and also know the same will hold true at the end of 2026.
