December 4th, 2025 by Pastor Solley1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
KJV
A second part of the mystery we need to make known is that not only was God manifest in the flesh but also justified in the Spirit. Jesus is God with us.(Matt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.) Jesus was also justified in the Spirit. What does that mean? Jesus was examined, tested, and proved to be sinless by the Holy Spirit. No one has lived a sinless and perfect life in this world excepted the God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus had and has to be sinless in order to be that Lamb of God, that perfect sacrifice that would not cover sin but wash sin away with His shed blood. Jesus was tested and tempted by Satan and was proved to be sinless. Jesus was examined by the courts and proved to be without fault. Jesus lived from birth to the cross a sinless life, Jesus never sinned. That is a mystery when we consider our own lives and how easy it is for us to fail when tempted, to be found guilty of sin. Praise God we don’t need to be sin less, we just need a sinless sacrifice and that is Jesus Christ. But why would one who knew no sin be willing to take my sin upon Himself? That is the mystery that I praise God for today, one sinless who was willing to pay the price for my sin. (2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.)
