Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
KJV
Above is what we call the Great Commission as Jesus reminded the apostles of His power and authority, commanded that they go into all the world with the gospel message and assured them of His ever abiding presence. There are truths in the Great Commission that ever child of God wants to claim such as the power and presence of our Lord. There are also parts of the Great Commission that we might decide to ignore. Most reading this have not been called onto a mission field in a far off land, will not travel the world with the gospel message, but that does not mean we are not to spread the gospel and tell others about Jesus. What if each one just told one about Jesus, not the world, just one? A local church with just fifty adults and each one telling just one would see souls getting saved. The world may not be changed but our communities would and we would see the Lord working in great and mighty ways. We may not be called to win the world but all are called to tell even just one of Jesus. Is there a better time to begin to fulfill the Great Commission than when the world gets ready to celebrate the first coming of Jesus? What of each one told just one?
