November 12th, 2025 by Pastor Solley1 Peter 1:7-9 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
KJV
A preacher from the past once said “Faith untried may be faith untrue.” No one I know longs for times of trials and testing in their lives but those times do strengthen our faith. Flowers cannot grow without rain and faith will not be proved without those times of storms and rain in our lives. That is why we read that the trial of faith is more precious than gold. Hold fast to the Lord in the many trials you are going through for there is a reward at the end of the tunnel. (Job 23:10-11 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.) It may very well be that the trial you come through today will give encouragement to some brother or sister in Christ tomorrow. Could there be gold waiting for you, the gold of bringing praise and honor to our Lord? Noting could be more precious than that.
