November 6th, 2025 by Pastor SolleyIsa 44:3-6 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

There are a great many problems that can arise because one is thirsty, physical problems, so we need water and we need to drink water. Water is easy to find, at least where I live, but what of a different type of thirst, what of a spiritual need? That is what is addressed in our reading this morning. Are you thirsty today, is there a need that cannot be satisfied? Where to look? Read the entire chapter of you find that there is emptiness all around and it can never be satisfied until we look to the right one, until we look to the one who can quench our thirst and Jesus Christ is that one. Not only will water be poured out but it will be as a flood upon dry ground. This all begins with the realization that one is in need and what brought about that need is sin in our lives. Then we can turn to the one who can take care of the sin problem and satisfy every other need we will ever have. Jesus Christ is the first, He is the last and He is God alone, He is the one who can satisfy that spiritual thirst in your life today. Look to Him first.
