Daily Devotions

Ps 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

We had our chimney inspected and cleaned yesterday by a good friend and brother in the Lord and it received a clean bill of health if I can put it that way so there is fire burning in the wood boiler this morning. It reminds me of the spiritual inspection and cleaning that we need as believers in Christ. David knew the importance of such an inspection and cleaning and prayed for just that as we see above. Without it we can so easily stray from a close walk with the Lord and that never ends up well. It should be our desire daily to have a heart that is clean before God. (Ps 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.) Only then do we have a clean bill of health spiritually. I am not talking about salvation which is a one time thing but keeping a close walk with our Savior which demands a daily inspection and cleaning.
