Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Titus 3:12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.
KJV
The first fire of the year is now burning in the wood boiler in the house and soon all will be warm and cozy. Wood has been hauled in, cut, split and stacked and is ready to burn and when people have asked as many do if I am ready for winter I have been able to say yes. But there is something that is just as sure as winters arrival and all need to be ready for it and that is the sure return of Jesus Christ and the judgment that will follow. Have you determined where you will spend eternity? The verses above are the first and last uses of the word winter in the Bible and two things we can take from those verses. First, winter is coming. Second, all can determine to be ready for it. The same is true of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, He is coming, and all need to determine to be ready to stand before Him. More important than being ready for winter is that I am ready to meet Jesus face to face because I repented of sin and asked Jesus and Jesus alone to forgive and save me. I am not perfect this morning but Jesus is and He did save me the moment I placed faith and trust in Him. Be ready because you have determined. (1 Cor 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.)
