Col 1:3-5 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

I hope it rains soon, I hope the winter is not so cold, I hope my favorite sports team wins. There are many hopes in this world that we can not be sure of and when they don’t materialize we are often disappointed. But there is a hope that we can be sure of, a hope that is true, a hope that rests on Jesus and His sure promise of eternal life in heaven because we have heard the gospel message and received Him as our savior, there is the truth in Jesus. Notice in verse five above how hope turned to truth because of the gospel, because of Jesus. Do you have a steadfast hope today, is your hope grounded in truth? If not you need to come to Jesus today and let Him turn your hope of eternal life and heaven to truth.
