Ruth 2:12 The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

No less than eight times we are given this picture in the Bible, one sheltered and protected under the wings of God. I wonder whose wings you are taking shelter under today? The last time this picture is given to us in the Bible concerns those who are not trusting in the Lord. (Matt 23:37
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!) We know the trials and testing Israel has gone through because they rejected Christ. Many today will put themselves through many trials and troubles because they refuse to abide under His wings. Who better able to stand with today, to work for today, to be rewarded by today than the Lord Jesus Christ. The wings of government, of education, of sports, even of family will fail you, but not the wings of Christ, not the wings of God. Yet many give themselves to those things more than they do to the Lord, are more committed to those things than they are to the Lord. Take time to read the short book of Ruth and see whose wings you need to trust in today, whose wings you need be committed to today.
