Eph 1:6-7 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
KJV
I remember years and years ago going through in initiation and then being accepted into a club that I wanted to be a part of. That was a happy time but those times have long past. The word beloved above points to a family we can be a part of, a family we can be accepted into. The word beloved is also translated charity many places in the New Testament and is the word AGAPE or God’s love. We can be made acceptable to God, made beloved through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross. When that takes place we are not accepted into a club that we may or may not look back on in years to come but into a family that we will never be taken out of. No other time the word beloved is used means more to me as I think of sins being forgiven, washed away by the blood of my savior, and being made acceptable by Him. All praise for redemption must go to Jesus, all glory and honor to Him, for only by His grace and mercy can we be accepted into the family of God, only by the redeeming work of Jesus can we be accepted into the beloved family of God. Have you been accepted into the family of God because you have been born again? Have you confessed that you are a sinner before God, repented, and asked Jesus to save you? That is the only way we can be made acceptable to God and be accepted into the beloved.
