Ps 27:13-14 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
KJV
Do you have trouble waiting? Most of us do. Most of us who have trouble waiting don’t want to admit we have trouble waiting. We drive faster than the speed limit so we don’t have to wait to get someplace. We go through drive through so we don’t have to wait inside. What does it do for us to be in a hurry? It can take us away from the spiritual truth that we are to wait on the Lord. Like many of you I also want prayers answered right away but our God is not a hurry up God and there are reasons God wants us to wait at times. We learn patience as we wait on the Lord. We lean that God has perfect timing as we wait on the Lord. We also are made stronger as we wait on the Lord. Two times we are told in one verse to wait on the Lord. When we obey that command we then learn that good things come to those who wait on the Lord. Do you have trouble waiting as most of us do? Ask God to give you the patience to wait on Him.
