Num 14:11 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
KJV
The Lord asked Moses a question that he could not answer in Numbers 14:11. Why wouldn’t the people of Israel believe when they could see the power of God? The same thing was seen when Jesus walked among men in this world. (Jn 12:37 above) And the same is true today. Why when people can read the Bible, hear the preaching of the gospel message, and see the lives that Jesus changes, why will they not believe? Because Satan has always blinded the eyes of men and women to the goodness of our God, to the greatness of our God, to the redemption found in the Son of God and in Him alone. What do you see today in the Lord Jesus Christ? For the world His name is a curse word. For many His name is a symbol of religion. Some use His name as a life jacket to call out and put on when in danger and trouble. And for some who have eyes that are open He is the God of creation, the one who can wash away sin with His blood, the one who gave them eternal life and a name they cherish. What question is being asked of you today? How long before you open your eyes today, what will it take you to believe?
