Ps 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
KJV
Do you begin the day in prayer? We should. Do you being the day by bringing your needs to the Lord? We should. We have many examples in the Bible of men and women, and our Lord Jesus Christ as well, beginning the day in prayer. We should also. But how often do you begin the day with thanksgiving and blessing His holy name as we see in verse one above? Why is that so important? Because it is so easy in our flesh to forget all the blessings that have been poured out upon us. (Verse two) When we forget our blessings we become self centered on our prayer life, demanding and selfish. In turn when that happens we miss the good things that God has for us and is doing for us, we are never satisfied. We need to be careful to give thanks and praise our God for then we will be renewed day by day in our Christian walk. How do you being your day?
