Gen 7:16-17 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
KJV
Another note concerning salvation in Jesus Christ this morning. Noah was one hundred and twenty years in building the ark as well as testifying to the judgement that was coming. We can be sure that people asked Noah and his sons what they were doing, what they were building and why and that answer would have been given. (Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.) I wonder how many who heard the message from Noah thought that if there was a flood, if there was a coming judgment, that they would enter the ark when they pleased? But when the rain began God shut the door, Noah did not, God shut the door. The same thing takes place each and every day in this age of grace. Lost souls hear the gospel, lost souls hear of a coming judgement, lost souls think they have plenty of time, and lost souls find the time of salvation has passed when their heart stops in this world and it is too late to be saved. The same thing will happen when Jesus Christ comes in the clouds to call his children home and those left behind will find out that the door of salvation has been shut. Are you one who is putting off being saved today? Do you have plenty of time? No one knows how much time we have left to enter the door to salvation. Enter today. (John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.)
