1 Thess 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
1 Thess 5:25 Brethren, pray for us.
KJV
There are many exhortations given by Paul to believers at the close of this epistle and none more important than the one in verse twenty five. Paul understood the importance and value of prayer. I wonder how many or few Christians today can say the same? Prayer is essential to our life and well being in the Lord and in this world today. I know as a pastor people are praying for me and I know it not because they tell me they are praying but because I can see and feel the results of prayer. Another prayer warrior whom I have know for over fifty years recently was delivered to heaven and his daughter called me to let me know of his home going. He was my pastor during teen years and we have been separated for the last many years by many miles and have not seen each other for quite some time. She told me on the inside of his Bible were names written that he made sure to pray for each day and my name was among them. I know that many times God answered his prayers for me. Do we value prayer enough to pray? Do we obey the exhortation given to us in the Bible? Do we know how important prayer is to be in our lives? Some do but many don’t and that is evidence by the lack of time one spends in prayer. Prayer is work, prayer takes time, but prayer is more valuable than many know. Brethren, pray for us, pray for me.
