Daily Devotions

2 Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
1 Thess 5:17-18 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
KJV
Today, if you do not know, is national social media day. I am not sure what that really means except in our world today certain things not known a few generations ago have completely taken over our lives. The PC I am using to write this devotional, the smart phone that people cannot be separated from, Facebook, texting, and other things that most have become addicted to. I know people who can’t walk from one room in their own home to another without their phone in their hand. All these things are good so I am told and I do know all can be used for good. But what when they rob us of the things we need most in our lives? What when they take us away from the Bible, what when they take us away from prayer? When one finds themselves spending more time looking at the smart phone, more time on Facebook then they do in the Word of God, in prayer, there is a problem. What was the first thing you did upon waking up this morning? Did you reach for your Bible or your phone? Did you pray or need to see what was new on Facebook? What you did first tells you where your heart is and what controls you. For the born again believer in Christ everyday should be a Bible and prayer day.
