Ps 12:1 Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
Matt 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
KJV
Have you ever taken note that some of the greatest prayers in the Bible are very short. I wonder how many times in his life David cried out “Help Lord” or Peter repeated that prayer “Lord save me.” This is not to say we do not need to spend long time in prayer for we see Jesus continuing all night in prayer and we do need to spend time in prayer. But when we are in such a situation that we need help right away as both David and Peter were we need just call out His name and He does answer immediately. Don’t rob God of the time we can be spending in prayer, don’t waste that time on other things as that is so easy to do, spend time in prayer. But we can also cry out in few words and know that our God hears and will answer.
