Ps 45:1-7 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

This Psalm is titled a Psalm of Love and yet we find the word hate in verse seven. This bring up a Bible principle that few like to consider. In order for one to love righteousness, in order for one to love the Lord of righteousness one must hate wickedness and sin. God is love and that proclaimed throughout the Word of God. Yet Jesus, who is God, hated sin and wickedness. In our world today we are being pressed to accept the wicked acts of sin and lifestyles of the world. One is condemned when not accepting them as being unloving, judgmental, and hateful. Yet we find in the Word of God that God does hate wickedness. We are as Jesus did to love the sinner but we also need to hate the sin as Jesus did. How much did Jesus hate sin and wickedness? He gave His live on the cross so people would not have to live in the sin and wickedness that surrounds us. How much does Jesus love the sinner? Whosoever will may come to Him to have sin forgiven and find victory over this world. (Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ; Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.) It is not wrong to hate sin and to point people to the savior of the world.
