2 Peter 3:1-2 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
KJV
Are you mindful of the Word of God? That means to remember the Word of God, to have the Word of God always in mind, to have God’s Word ever before us. We find in the Old Testament that Israel was to have the Word of God ever before them to guide them in all that they did. (Deut 6:6-9 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.) And we are commanded to be mindful of the Word. If we were mindful it would change many of the things we do each day. We would set no wicked things before our eyes. (Ps 101:3) Our speech would be pure and seasoned with salt. (Col 4:6) We would give no place to the devil in our lives. (Eph 4:27) We would be forgiving. (Eph 4:32) How our lives would change for the better if we just were mindful of the Word of God.
