Who are you numbered with today? As we grow older most of us get to make more and more trips to the doctor and then to the lab to get this test or that test and when you get there you take a number. (Now one enters what they call the “Q” but it is the same thing.) As I sit in a waiting room I look around and see all the people I am numbered with. Truthfully I would rather be numbered with the well instead of the sick. I think of Jesus this morning, the sinless one, the one who never knew sin, the pure one, the perfect one, the holy one, the righteous one, the one in whom there is no darkness at all and who He was willing to be numbered with. “He was numbered with the transgressors.” Jesus was willing to take a number and be numbered with me. Jesus was willing to bare my sin and be numbered with me. Jesus was willing to carry my sin to the cross, shed His blood and give His life for me and be numbered with me. Jesus arose from the grave securing eternal life for all who will be willing to be numbered with Him. We get that number when we confess our sin to Him, repent, and receive Him as our personal Savior, then we are numbered with Him. Who are you numbered with today?
